Doll Clothes Sale Results!

Thank you to all who volunteered at the Friends Doll Clothes sale, and to all who purchased our doll clothes. Friends raised over $2200! Half of this pays for materials, and half goes DIRECTLY to the Children’s Room for purchases! Past Doll Clothes money has been used to buy the couch, loveseat, ottoman and the book drop.

Need Red Sox tickets donation for raffle

Greetings, Friends.

As you may know, Friends of Lane Library holds a special fund-raiser during the summer. This fund-raiser is a raffle for tickets to a Boston Red Sox game in August. We have been very fortunate in years past to get donations of game tickets, but cannot continue to ask the same season-ticket holder year after year. Thus, we are seeking help from you, our Friends members.

If any of you are holders of Red Sox season tickets, or if any of you work for a company that has season tickets, would you or your company be willing to donate one set of tickets to the Friends for our 2010 raffle? In addition, if any of you are members of the Hampton Chamber of Commerce or the Hampton Rotary, perhaps you could contact those organizations to see if they would be willing to help the Friends with this Library fund-raiser. Perhaps one of their members has season tickets and would be willing to donate a set to us. We are willing to meet with members of either organization to further explain the fund-raiser and answer any questions they might have.

While the Red Sox schedule is very busy during the coming months, we would prefer if the game were in August, as it would give us a long lead time to sell the raffle tickets. There is a stretch of home games from August 17th through the 25th. Any one of those home games would be ideal.

Friends of Lane Library is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. The ticket donation would be fully deductible and verified by a thank-you letter from the Friends organization. In addition, Friends would happily acknowledge the donor on advertising materials for the raffle, and in any newspaper articles that are published about the raffle.

We would like to hear from you as soon as possible so that we can put up the posters advertising this important fund-raiser for our Library and begin selling the raffle tickets. We thank you very much for your help on this.

Friends Attend NH Library Trustees Conference

Four of the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library recently attended the NH Library Trustees Association annual conference in Portsmouth. Left to right: Shelley Chandler, Vice President; Kris Sawyer, a Past President; Sue Hughes, President; Lynn Goodman, Recording Secretary. The NH Library Trustees Association invited state library Friends organizations to join them this year at their annual meeting. It provided a great opportunity for Friends groups across the state to network, exchange information, and hear fresh ideas.
