EXCITING NEWS FOR THIS YEAR’S
RED SOX RAFFLE

This year The Friends will be raffling off tickets for TWO Red Sox games at Fenway Park! A generous donation from the Rotary Club of Hampton allowed The Friends to purchase FOUR tickets for seats in an ultra-fun PAVILION BOX between home plate and third base. AND—–we also have received a very kind donation of TWO tickets from Wheelabrator Technologies, Inc. for seats in a fan-favorite LOGE BOX near third base. That means Red Sox fans will have TWO chances to win tickets. There will be two drawings on July 16th. The first place winner and 3 friends will attend the Aug. 4th game; the second place winner and friend will attend the Aug. 1st game.

BUT – we need your help to make this a successful fundraiser. By getting involved, you can make the difference as to how many raffle tickets are sold. By taking any one of the following actions, you will make a huge contribution, have a great deal of fun, and only expend a small amount of your time:
  • Join the Raffle Committee to help develop new ideas.
  • Help distribute posters and flyers to retail businesses in the area.
  • Help staff a two-hour shift at a local supermarket where raffle tickets will be sold on a Saturday in June or July.
  • Contact family members and friends to advise them of their opportunity to win tickets to a Red Sox Game.
  • If you are employed, take raffle tickets to work to sell.
  • Even if you do not want to purchase a raffle ticket, a contribution to the Library during the raffle will be a big help.
This raffle is an important fundraiser for the Lane Library, one that helps the Library to upgrade its services and provide many special perks to its patrons. Your support is the very best way to show the Library how much you appreciate this wonderful Treasure House and its contributions to our town. Please join us in this exciting venture. Thank you.

Red Sox Raffle

20
Apr

Greetings Friends,

It is the beginning of another great season for our Boston Red Sox. It is also the beginning of the popular raffle that The Friends of the Library holds annually to offer Red Sox fans the opportunity to attend a game at Fenway Park. The raffle is an important fundraiser for the Lane Library, one that provides items to the Library and offers updates and conveniences to its patrons.

The Friends has been very fortunate in years past to receive donations of Red Sox tickets. This year we are without tickets, but a generous donation from the Rotary Club of Hampton will allow us to purchase tickets, either from season ticket holders or another source. We’re off and running – with your help! The first step is obtaining Red Sox tickets. Do you have season tickets or do you know someone who has? It is imperative that The Friends quickly purchase two or, preferably, four tickets to a Red Sox game.

A very important part of The Friends success is the enthusiasm of our members. We love hearing you say, “What can I do to help?” There are many ways to help; for example, you can join our Raffle Committee and contribute new ideas. You can offer to help spread the word in town by distributing raffle posters and flyers. You can join other Friends in selling raffle tickets. You can certainly contribute, even if you are not interested in attending a game or buying a raffle ticket. Bottom line – You are what makes this raffle successful. Your support is the very best way to show the Library how much you appreciate what it contributes to our town.

We thank you very much for your help with the Red Sox Raffle.

Sincerely,

Lynn Goodman                                                      Diane Keyes
