Dress-A-Girl Sewathon

A special sew-a-thon event hosted on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to honor the spirit of community, and of brother and sisterhood. Imagine a world where every little girl owned at least one dress! What if that dress was made by you? Help change the life of a girl by sewing a simple dress. Girls that appear cared for are less likely to be abducted into a life of sex/human trafficking. Bring your sewing machine, extension cords, ½ yard to 1 yard of good quality cotton print fabric, scrap piece for a pocket or two, one package of coordinating extra wide bias tape. Register & reserve a seat by emailing:

The library has a gift wrapping fundraiser going on and for a small donation, local high school students will wrap your gifts while you wait!
